My new Toy has arrived, Fingers crossed it will save my life!

For a long time now I have thought to myself fishing low water marks a long way out is seriously dangerous and I have pondered many ideas such as keeping an inflatable rubber ring with me incase I get injured/stuck but when I sat down and thought about it, my ideas never added up. Finally I stumbled accross the IMA RBB Flotation vest and got one on order straight away.
 

After about a week of waiting the vest has turned up and I am very impressed. The vest is basically a Buoyancy aid which has been specifically designed for the mobile Lure angler. The actual design of it it brilliant. There is minimal matarial around the shoulder areas allowing for complete movement and no hinderance when casting.
The vest is fully adjustable around the waist and shoulders and is fitted with a heavy duty zip and clip so you can take it on and off quickly.

The main pockets on the front of the vest will fit a Snowbee Lure box in each. Both pockets also contain front pouches for your snoods or any slightly larger items. It has a fully waterproof top pocket for your Phone and keys and a large pocket on the back for larger items or your lunch.
It also has additional plier pocket and thinsulated bottle pouch.

All in all this item, in my eyes is essential for any angler who is adventuring to more dangerous areas. At first it sounds a little expensive at full retail (£239.99) but if it works once and saves your life its worth it.

The Way Forward. Double Crimps for Sea Rigs

We have just got in a sample of some double crimps for mono and were all a little excited by them. You can use them effectivily for your clips, links and hooks and you can actually name a full rig without any knots. Rather impressive.

Our first tests show that they will hold under quite a lot of pressure, probably more than 95% of people can muster.

The first double crimps coming in next week will take mono upto 60lb and hopefully in the short future we will get some in to take 80lb.

Using Weedless Hooks

Weedless hooks are a very effective way of fishing in weedy or snaggy areas either on the boat or from the shore.
'Fishing Weedless' is a relatively new technique and once you learn it you wont stop using it. I see it growing well from the shore but I think when boat anglers really get to grips with it they wont use anything else over wrecks.

The hooks come either loose, weighted as weedless jig hooks to cover most fishing situations.

Lure Fishing Techniques & Tips

Hi Guys,
       When your starting out on the lure scene it seems like there is a mine field of 'Lure Jargon' which makes you wonder whether your fishing correctly and using the correct lures. It sure had me baffled, but with a bit of time and quite a bit of reading I soon learnt the different techniques to use with different lures.
I was trolling the net the other day and came accross some american youtube videos which give you a real good insight of different lure techniques.
Hopefully these will help you all in becoming 'pro lure anglers' :)

Delalande Agrafe Clips for Lures, Pretty impressive

For me its easy. I have used many clips but without a doubt the Delalande Agrafe clips win hands down. They come in 3 sizes, and make life effortless when changing your lures.

What tackle you will need for fishing in Norway or Icceland

Hi Guys, Below I have compiled a few deals and some advice about what you will need to take to Norway to make your trip a success. If you have any questions please email. You will need the following at a minimum -  Large shads. The Savage Gear cutbaits are the best. I would recommend a minimum of 4 packets per person. The best colours are Herring, Redfish, Puffin and Glow. Braid. 50lb to 80lb is generally seen as an average strength. The Power Pro is the best we sell at £29.99. They also do a Power Pro Depth hunter which allows you to find out what depth of water the fish are at and get straight back to them on the next drop. We do have other braids in stock from £16.99 (Spiderwire EZ Braid) that will definitely do the job. Swivels. Okuma Norweigan snaps and Gerrys size 2 power swivels are all you will need. Leader/Snoods. I would recommend you use Stren Flurocarbon. Its quite pricey at £9.99 per spool but its bloody good stuff and wont let you down. Rigs. We do a selection of high quality rigs specifically made for Norway, (Minimum 4 rigs per person) They all target the fish in different ways. There is an effective live bait rig where you hook a small coal fish first on a grub and there is a bigger hook above it for the Cod that eats your bait fish. The best rig we sell is the Imax Nordic Squid rig. It has a flashing light in the end of the squid. They are deadly. Pirks/Jigs. (Minimum 4 Jigs) You will need a selection of Chomat Pirks,  Sea bouncers and Williamson Abyss Jigs. All around the 300G weight. The colours dont make much difference out there its mainly the action they produce. You will also need Strong Split rings. Hooks. Trebles make sure they are 10/0 or 12/0. Assist hooks stay with the 8/0 size.  You donâ?™t need to buy mountains of terminal tackle because its rare that you loose anything because you wont fish at the bottom but the above is a good start.
